Sweden, Norway and Finland are advising their residents to prepare for the possibility of war or other unexpected crises, the BBC reports. The Norwegian and Finnish civil defences recently distributed leaflets with recommendations and, this Monday, millions of Swedes began receiving copies of a leaflet that instructs the population on how to prepare and cope in the event of war or other crises.
The leaflets “If a crisis or war comes” have been updated and are now twice the size of the warnings published six years ago. The Swedish Minister of Civil Defence had already warned that the world is different and war could come to the country. Therefore, the information has been updated in the event of a crisis or war in Sweden.
One of the most important recommendations is to have enough food and drinking water for at least three days. The food list includes potatoes, cabbage, carrots, eggs, cans of Bolognese sauce and cranberry and rosehip soup.
Another message that stands out in the new leaflets is that Sweden will never surrender if attacked by another country. “If Sweden is attacked by another country, we will never surrender. All information that the resistance should cease is false,” the leaflet says.
