PC Gamer has published a list of the 200 most commonly used passwords in an attempt to get you to switch to a stronger password before it’s too late.
Whatever you do, don’t use the password “123456.”
This happens to be the most popular password for personal and corporate accounts.
But it’s also the easiest password for hackers, according to NordPass, and was the top password used in 2020, 2022, and 2024, foreign media write, reports Telegraph.
According to NordPass, it would take any hacker less than a second to figure out if your password is “123456.”
The UK’s National Cyber Security Centre suggests stringing together three random words and says this will create a pretty good password.
Make sure they are actually three random words, otherwise the password can be easily cracked.
